CROSSROADS URBAN CENTER PLANS
TO PROVIDE THANKSGIVING TURKEYS FOR 3,700 FAMILIES ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2016
Crossroads Urban Center will distribute holiday turkeys and sides to low income Utahns from 10:00AM – 3:30PM on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd at the Urban Indian Center (120 W. 1300 South) in Salt Lake City. The distribution is on a first come, first serve basis.
In its 50th year of providing support to the Salt Lake community, Crossroads operates an emergency food pantry throughout the year to assist the hungry. All of the food that will be distributed on Wednesday, November 23rd is donated by Harmons Grocery and their customers. This is the 19th year that Harmons has supplied turkeys and other food items for this event.
Funding and support for the distribution come from Harmons, Penna Power Advertising, the Utah Food Bank, Rowland Hall School, Community of Grace Presbyterian Church members, Holladay United Church of Christ members, Christ United Methodist Church members, the Capitol Kiwanis Club, Rocky Mountain Power, the B.W. Bastian Foundation, Metro Recyclers, Salt Lake Community College Concurrent Enrollment Staff, AECOM employees, the Air Force ROTC, Helix Education, Vista Services, the Highland High School Football team, Cadence Electronics employees, Boeing Aerospace Salt Lake City employees, , and dozens of other volunteers, nonprofits, and local churches.
